“One of the great blessings of the Reformation was the publication of the Book of Common Prayer. Countless Christians through the years have appreciated the words of the services contained in it, and been blessed as they gather together to join in its liturgy.
Even in our modern and informal day, I am a staunch supporter of the BCP, because its theology is sound, and its pages are full of scripture, not only in the readings themselves, but in the way the prayers are steeped in the Bible. We owe a great debt to Archbishop Cranmer and his associates.
I am pleased that the Prayer Book Society has established this website, and trust that the resources contained in it will be of benefit in encouraging meaningful, biblical and God-honouring gatherings of his people; or to quote the prayer book itself, “that the congregation may be thereby edified.”
